Content services and Strex

Content services refer to digital content that you purchase via your mobile phone, as well as the use of premium rate services. This could include paying for parking with your mobile, subscribing to 1881, or voting on The Voice, among other things.

Strex offers a unified payment solution for mobile users in Norway and is owned by Telia, Telenor, and ICE.

Strex makes it safe and easy to pay for products and services with your mobile phone, regardless of the type of phone, operator, or subscription.

You can pay with Strex at various retailers, buy movie tickets, vote on The Voice, or donate to charitable organizations. When you use Strex, the payment is added to your mobile phone bill. This means you don't need a credit card, Vipps, or any other payment solutions.

Content services are services that are ordered and delivered via SMS, MMS, or the internet.

The price of the service is determined by the content provider and is not something we at Mycall control. Examples of content services include:

  • Directory services such as 1880 and 1881
  • Purchases where you use your mobile phone as a payment method (for example, parking meters)
  • Voting (for example, on Norwegian Talent or Eurovision)
  • Ringtones, games, and wallpapers
  • Services from phone banking

Many content services are subscription-based. This means that the provider charges you regularly, either weekly or monthly, so that you can continue using the service. You need to cancel the service yourself by sending the keyword STOPP, STOP, or STANS to the number from which you receive the service.

You can contact customer service to block all such services.

We offer the following blocks for content services:

  • Block the receipt of content services
  • Block calls to premium-rate numbers
  • Spending limit on content services: you can set an appropriate spending limit (for example, 100 kroner) per month. The subscription/prepaid card can only be charged for content services up to the selected amount per calendar month.

Complaints and inquiries about content services should be directed to Mycall, who will take the matter up with the content provider. If you wish to contact the content provider directly, you are free to do so. Some content providers have multiple shortcodes and may therefore appear on the list multiple times.

Limits for the Use of Strex

This table shows the limits for payments with Strex. The limits depend on whether the user is registered with Strex, the user's age, and whether a payment card has been added to Strex. Register with Strex to get a higher limit.
